Okay, not so much. The following has been on my mind for awhile now, and it bothers me to no end, so maybe if I write about it I will feel better. I know that some of you out there reading this don't yet have children, and even if you do you may not be to the point of watching the following shows...but I’ll do my best to convey this message to all of you.
Back when the big kid had his tonsils out, there was about a week of recovery in which all he could really do was lay on the couch and watch TV. Because of this, I was exposed to a wide array of kid friendly shows that we don't usually see. The main channel we watched was Noggin. During this week there were three things that bothered the CRAP out of me and I will talk about those now!
First is Wonder Pets. Basically it’s these three classroom pets that go off and save other animals in trouble. Well there is a little duck in the show that speaks in "baby talk". You know the talk, like if you were to say "serious" it would sound like "se-we-us". What genius thought that would be a good idea??? As the mother of a young child the LAST thing I want him to do is decide to talk like that because he saw it on TV, when right now his speech is perfect (for his age). I mean, these shows are supposed to be for learning...what the hell is that teaching?? Not to mention every time the duck opens its little mouth…errr beak…it makes me want to start pulling my hair out its so annoying!! I think it is stupid and it really bothers me, and I am very thankful that my kiddo is better now so that we never have to see that dumb show again.
Next is the show Little Bear. Now I know these shows are for kids, and this little "pet peeve" is really something that they wouldn't pick up on, but it bothers me none-the-less. So this show is about this little bear that lives with his Mom and Dad. Okay, so little bear, never wears any clothes. He is a bear, so that's pretty normal except for the fact that his father wears a three piece suit ALL THE TIME and his mom is always in a long skirt, shirt and apron. Now...why do they get to be dressed but the kid doesn't??? I don't get it. AND the dad NEVER changes his clothes no matter what. We were watching one episode and they were trying to work out in the garden, and moving a big rock, and he is out there in this damn three piece suit???!?! I don't get it. It just drives me up the wall. I just think it should be all or nothing. They either all need to wear clothes or none of them. But then again in this show the bear is friends with a duck, cat, owl, and some little girl...so I guess the clothes thing is probably just goes along with that...
And finally Dora. Now, don't get me wrong, I like Dora. I think she’s a spunky little gal and her and Boots go off and have lots of adventures, and I'm cool with that. It's not HER that I have a problem with, it’s her creators. Why oh why couldn't they have given this little girl a normal outfit?!?! The poor little thing walks around every day in a pink shirt (which is a size too small in my opinion), red shorts, yellow socks and white shoes, with her purple backpack! Seriously??!?! That is the best they could come up with??? Her cousin Diego looks normal (and matches) in all his cool jungle animal rescue gear, why does she have to walk around in clothes that don't even match?? I really don't get it. Sure every now and again they will go somewhere that requires a different outfit, but those are few and far between. I know these animators have it in them to think up something better. I mean, she is forever stuck in a too small non-matching outfit and she has to go all over the place in it! Again, I know this is for kids, and they don't pick up on this stuff, but it sure bothers the boogers out of me.
Okay, well that is it. That is all I have to write about today. It’s been on my mind for quite some time, so I really wanted to get it out and share with you. So with that I will leave you to ponder those three things. Maybe if you get a chance, you should check them out so you will know where I am coming from if you don't already. Or maybe just save yourselves the frustration it has caused me and avoid them all together. I know that is what I plan to do now that we are back to our normal "TV time" which thankfully doesn't include any of the above. Have a good night...I’ll catch you tomorrow!

Ok, you are seriously hilarious. By far one of the funniest blog postings I have read in a long, long time. The three-piece suit and "all or nothing" mantra made me laugh out loud. Thanks for reminding me of all the times you cracked me up with your witty, funny insight.
